Golden mediums are so pricey! Lol. I got a clear gesso, small bottle and it was $44 CAD. The person ringing me thru even scoffed. 😅

They're so worth it though! I've never had any issues with them whereas with lower priced brands have sometimes had peeling and bubbling!

The Faber Castell watercolour markers work really well on watercolor cellulose paper but there's paper these markers absolutely hate - I've seen it already and I suspect that you had the same problem. I'd suggest you try the one you bought on a different paper with a different texture!

Thanks for that tip! @hessabinhuwaidn7525 also mentioned they had the same problem with it on certain papers. I've tried it on a few and it's quite unreliable! Works on some and not on others. I definitely prefer the Winsor & Newton watercolour markers because there's consistency across all surfaces.

Hi - it’s the paper not the FC marker problem, I had the same problem with one of my Pith.

Agree. It has to be watercolour papers due to the sizing in that paper. Water solubles work best when the paper is sized so the paint or ink can sit and disperse on top of the surface and not sink into the paper ✌🏼☺️

@RinN3 I find it interesting that the Winsor & Newton watercolour markers have absolutely no problem whatever the paper, but the Faber-Castell do!

Yes 🤷🏼‍♀️ unusual must be in the binder in the paint/ink composition. Winsor & Newton are known for their high quality paints so makes sense they’ve made a more flexible usable product. Where Faber Castell are experts at drawing / dry media. So who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😊✌🏼

So many new tools❤ I prefer to use watercolor light blue pencil for sketch instead of the non-photographic pencils. Nowadays scanners are so good and I can still see the blue mark under the sketch which I need to take out either photoshop 😅
